*Forma Systems will present a prototype of a shape-optimized multi-stem deck slab developed with JP Carrara that achieves a substantial weight reduction compared to a standard 8" hollow core plank. The presentation will focus on key lessons from design through manufacturing, including trade-offs that influenced performance and constructability. It will also introduce the software used to design the system, FormaOpt, and outline where it can support similar optimizations in other precast projects.

**MIT ec³ hub will present on multifunction concrete, studies on incorporating carbon black into cement-based materials’ mixes, allowing them to serve as cement-based superconductors. This presents an opportunity for the concrete to behave as battery storage for electricity or use that energy as self-heating. See how precast lends itself to this future technology

All slots will be kept to 5 minutes maximum, slide deck (if used) must be provided in advance. Availability on a first-come-first-served basis.
